We’re taking action towards a greener future by reducing our carbon footprint across our enterprise – with a goal to be carbon neutral for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2035.

Our Progress Toward Carbon Neutral

We’re proud of the progress we’ve already made, reducing our enterprise-wide Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by more than 30% since 2019. We have the roadmap to carbon neutral, and we’re letting it guide us to a better, more sustainable future.

Scope 1 and 2 Emissions


This chart shows a reduction in Scope 1 and 2 Emissions from 2.3 Million mtCO2e in 2019 to 1.6 Million mtCO2e in 2023.

To provide transparency and help drive improvement, we are reporting data using the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol. We have also joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) on climate action, committing to set near-term emission reduction goals in line with pathways designed to limit global warming. Our goal to become carbon neutral by 2035 starts with reducing the emissions we own and control across the enterprise. With purchased electricity accounting for the majority of our emissions, we are taking action to invest in clean and renewable energy. This means shifting to solar, wind, and other clean sources of electricity.


In addition to sourcing more clean energy, we are deploying new, energy-efficient technologies across our network with a goal to double network energy efficiency by 2030.
